I could pitch a tent by age six and scored my first passport stamp when I was 15 (Israel, if you’re asking). I’ve visited more than 25 countries, most of them backpacking. I’ve traveled solo and with tour groups, with my grandmother, with my boyfriend (now husband) and with good friends. I never take enough socks; I always take too many books; and I never, ever go without a great pair of hiking boots (currently: Vasque). I seek out knitting shops, local music, cooking lessons and beaches.

I started this blog as a recovering newspaper reporter spending a year in grad school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. I never knew 18-year-olds could make me feel so old.  I’m now a soon-to-be former news producer for AOL News, among 2,500 getting phased out there. I’d say it’s time to take a hint and build that shack in Montana, except I hate the cold, love a proper cappuccino and still can’t shake this writing bug (and did I mention hating the cold?)

My professional hat: annemillermedia.com.

And yes, I’m absolutely available to meet all of your freelancing needs.
