Sea to Summit has a new camping plate and bowl this year: the X Bowl and X Plate. So it’s not the most creative name, and I haven’t seen them yet, but I want one. It’s like Guyot’s Squishy Bowl technology (and if you haven’t played with those, stop by the nearest camping store ASAP), but instead of just a thick bowl that kinda squishes down, the X version folds down like one of those cheap plastic camping cups that collapse to a flat disc. The improvements? Well, the thick, squishy plastic can survive temps to 300F and doesn’t chip or break. The flexible sides means you can pinch the lip and pour. But the real plus? The flat bottom is tough enough to double as a small cutting board when the bowl collapses. Genius.
