I could pitch a tent by age six and scored my first passport stamp when I was 15 (Israel, if you’re asking). I’ve visited more than 25 countries, most of them backpacking. I’ve traveled solo and with tour groups, with my grandmother, with my boyfriend, and with good friends. I never take enough socks; I always take too many books; and I never, ever go without a great pair of hiking boots (currently: Vasque). I seek out knitting shops, local music, cooking lessons and beaches.

I’m a recovering newspaper reporter spending a year in grad school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. I never knew 18-year-olds could make me feel so old. At least there’s a pub with $3 Guinness. God bless RPI.
